You're not too far off, and averages always help, but in my experience, stop counting views, focus on reads. For instance with just 42.000 views in a month, I managed to bring in nearly $1200, because I had a pretty good read ratio, about 32%. If we go by your read calculations I should have only made $588 last month, whereas in reality it was double!

Your other assumption about tripling your writing so your income triples as well, will turn out to be off too. The clever way to make money on Medium is to write great stories that people genuinely enjoy reading and find helpful. One simply cannot churn out viral story after viral story. It's not realistic. In my experience, and comparing notes with others, everyone seems to have a fairly unique experience on Medium in terms of income and story value.

The bottom line is, stop calculating, start writing. Best of luck. 😃
