Yes, I have. In my opinion a better choice would have been to focus on what made the channel popular in the first place, even if that meant having a smaller company. A YT channel shouldn't need a CEO. If the videos aren't profitable without the gazillion ads and merch, then maybe it's not the right business model and company structure.
