Without pointing the finger at individual people, here's the perception of an Eastern European of how accepting the British nation is. It's a polite nation, I'll give them that, but the higher you climb the ranks, the more you run into weird interactions where you're made to feel you're not British enough. I lived in the UK for years, and never felt it being my home, I had to come down to Ireland to feel that. There is very much still that air of superiority within many Brits. It's funny how right now they're totally against Russia's imperialistic behaviour yet likely every second person you'd ask in Britain, they'd feel a certain British Empire related pride, even the younger generation. This becomes even more apparent as you go outside the major cities. People with voting power stuck in the past, in a colonial Britain that doesn't exist and without trying to offend anyone, I struggle to see the "Great" in "Great Britain". I was there first at the age of 21 and in the last 15 years it has only been degrading as a nation and country, with increasingly moronic leadership and decision-making. Brexit happened exactly because of racism. If all the people who voted to leave because of all the "Poles, Romanians, etc being in the country", would have abstained, the UK would still be part of the EU. That is pretty fecked up, if you ask me. There are a lot of amazing Brits in that country, I met some myself, but the ones who aren't, still lead the way.
