Who did I offend? React? Didn't know react had feelings. Who did you offend? Me. I am a human, and therefore I have feelings. All you had to do was simply ask why am I not happy about React hooks instead of saying I don't know how to use them.

Your argument that it's cleaner code is entirely subjective. Don't forget that hooks bring functional programming into React. That may look like clean code to some, to others a lot less so. I for one find functional programming in general more cumbersome and less readable. The very opposite may be true for you, and that's great for you, but not everyone is you and that doesn't mean everyone else is using hooks wrong. Also, as I mentioned there is a lot more to hooks than state, so let's no oversimplify.
