While I love, love, love Flutter, you have a point, and it worries me, because no matter how much I love it, it tends to remind me of the web frontent frameworks and libraries we keep stuffing with very long lists of questionable quality dependencies. Many don't even have decent code coverage and even if they did, any decent developer knows code coverage doesn't equate to well-tested software. When I wanted to upgrade my app to null-safety is when I realised just how bad the dependency rabbit-hole got in Flutter in just a couple of years. Having said all that, I do wish open source would be governed by more strict rules to ensure quality, because technically Flutter itself is fine, it's more the contributors who don't seem to need/care to adhere to certain standards.
