What worries me is that Medium seems to take action only on certain topics. If you search the platform for articles expressing hate against men, you'll find a long list of articles giving voice to mysandry. Somehow that's accepted. The same goes for the opposite, and I'm sure you'd find others talking about hating various religions, and many other controversial topics. I find it very saddening that the article you mentioned (I saw the title too, but never read it.) ever saw the light of day, but one must ask why are all other vitriol-filled articles allowed and thriving? Medium needs to adopt a clear policy on this because as it stands it's highly interpretable and encourages cancel culture without any proper policing framework in place for writers, editors and Medium itself. Medium might claim that not enough people reported the other stories, but that's likely because they don't want to report other writers because it could end up backfiring. I certainly don't report writers or even stories, because I don't feel like it's my place to contribute to "firing" a writer or disbanding a publication. At the end of the day, I am just another writer and reader. Unless someone attacks me directly, I don't find it in me to report them. I just block them and move on. If reporting someone means cancelling them, I don't wanna be part of that.
