Well, hmm... actually Apple does a lot more with 8GB than the rest of the PC market, so, as stated in my article, they are very good at memory management, so based on that and some previous experience it is fair to expect certain things from an 8GB RAM machine. The thing here is that it's 8GB of shared memory between CPU and GPU. The SOC architecture has upsides here but there is a point where that upside becomes a downside. My tests merely prove that.
