One suggestion in terms of improvement (though only judging by the fact that it's not mentioned in the article) is making sure your app adheres to accessibility guidelines, as this will open you app up to disabled users as well, and there's very few that are accessible at the moment, and could set you apart and improve your ranking by a lot.
