Unfortunately I read the first version of your comment as well and it saddens me to see your off the cuff reaction. It is entirely your choice to use certain stylistic devices, but I think that excluding circa 15% of your readers for the sake of humor which can be conveyed through emphasis or strong font is… well, I’ll leave it up to you, but I, for one, would call it “not funny”.
