This one hits very close to home. Many of my friends called me for years a Grinch and for a while I even took that identity on. I stayed away from Christmas as much as I could. To this day I don't really celebrate it. I don't really know how to and especially as a single person emigrated to a different country, I don't feel like I fit into anyone else celebration, so I make the most of it by myself. I turn it into a time for reflection and peaceful quietness. That can have its beauty as well, especially in a world that's full of noise and distraction. Thank you for this piece. I hope all the Grinches out there will feel heard and appreciated, perhaps even loved, if even for the length of time it takes to read this story. 🙂 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
