There’s definitely more custom elements than there used to be, I’ll give you that. I bought 6KG of used LEGO on eBay a while back, and there was a good pile of pieces that definitely had limited reuse potential.

Some new custom pieces can trigger new creativity though, like they did with some of the Botanical sets, so it’s not all bad, but I agree that huge size, custom pieces and display sets is not a combo I can stand behind. Looking at the Mighty Bowser for example launching next week, it looks really cool, but I can’t justify myself buying it. You’d have to be an absolute Mario nuthead to wanna buy it.
