There is another matter to consider, from my perspective that is. My loyal readers. How do they feel when I send them again the same article they already read? Does that annoy them? Do they feel cheated out of their subscription money? My personal stance on this is that I don't do it, because I owe to my existing readers fresh content. If my favourite YouTubers would delete some of their old videos and repost it and I would see it in my feed as new content, I for one would feel disappointed. I think the writers who feel annoyed about it, actually don't play by the same rules, as in they're aware they could do it, but choose not to for the reasons I don't either.

For instance there are writers who literally recycle their articles year after year, and just update the title to the current year to make it seem more relevant. I think we can both agree, that's very shady stuff, but it is exploiting the same rule.

Yes, it's a contentious topic alright. Teething pains of increased popularity, I suppose. 🙂
