There are writers (and readers) who leave hateful, aggressive comments. It is a fact unfortunately. I don't hate any of them, that would be extreme, but I do mute and later block them.

There's also a second type of situation where a reader (or writer) will hate the content a certain writer produces. I must admit I have a black-list of writers who keep pouring so much worthless nonsense in the platform that they eventually got me to hate seeing their posts popping up. That being said, I don't hate them as people, because I don't know them. Perhaps their only major fault is playing the system to make an extra buck. While that does speak to some extent about character, I would still be very happy sitting down for a pint with them face to face and talking about literally anything, including why they do what they do. Trouble is, I see very little or no willingness to have genuine debates on Medium. 50% of people will agree with me, 50% will disagree and out of that around 15-20% will be downright aggressive and come at me with pitchforks. I am still waiting to have a conversation on some topics here where we don't see eye to eye, yet it doesn't come down to pitchforks and machine-guns.
