The LEGO Avengers Tower Is Insane In Every Way

When I decide to purchase a LEGO set, it’s rarely about size. Sure, I do happen to own the World Map — the largest ever LEGO set — but going big is never the intent. I have to be intrigued to spend my hard-earned cash on these sets. Not a single LEGO set I review is provided to me by the LEGO Group. I buy them like everyone else, so choosing to buy a massive set does come with some mental gymnastics to justify the purchase. The Avengers Tower was no exception. If anything, this is the set I agonised the most about.

When LEGO released the set at the end of November 2023, I instantly loved the looks of it. What’s not to like? A gigantic LEGO set with 5201 pieces, 31 minifigures, and a glass skyscraper all Marvel fans are intimately familiar with. But… the price was, as expected, very high — 500 euros. Can’t speak for everyone, but I know that for plenty of folks, 500 euros or dollars is a lot of money. For some it’s a month’s rent, for others it’s a month’s worth of groceries. In fact, for me, it’s more than what I pay for food in a month. It’s the same amount of money…
