Why buy books when you can buy really odd or unique books instead?

Books that will spark the most unexpected conversations. Yes, 90% of my personal library consists of books that I am not only interested in reading myself, but I know will also spark genuine conversations. Unique conversations, perhaps even controversy. There is nothing more boring than having someone over and not having anything to talk about. This is something I discovered many years ago. People enter a room, and they look for things to connect with. I never liked rooms that were empty and didn’t provide a wide array of conversation-starters. They, of course, don’t have to be books. It can be anything from odd furniture, stained-glass windows, a very high-tech setup, a music, or film collection, LEGO, books, you name it. Fuck minimalism. Just gimme something real to work with.

Knowing the value of conversation starters, over the years I have collected a small library of books — just a couple of shelves really, a record collection, a film collection and LEGO, the last of which most of ye are all far too familiar with by now. Today I want to focus on the books, and perhaps another time I’ll share some of my other intriguing items with you.
