The arrangement made with OpenAI doesn’t involve either sides paying anything. That was publicly announced by both Apple and OpenAI. Furthermore, Apple Intelligence once it gets off the local models, it goes to Apple’s PCC, not ChatGPT. Not sure where you are getting your erroneous information from. ChatGPT only gets queried if the information requires information from the web and in that case the user gets to first approve that call.
