Standing ovation! Very well written, and all very true. It’s puzzling how society has created itself this notion that success and happiness somehow must involve a significant other or offsprings. I am not going to say that’s not true to some extent for some people, but the vast majority… honestly? I see loads of unhappy and unsuccessful people with significant others and children. And guess what? Many, after a few drinks or not even, will sigh, and say “you know I got married, and had kids, so I couldn’t this or that… but I wouldn’t change a thing”. Now that’s a load of bull*&%$ and we all know it, yet most refuse to admit it.
