Soon You’ll Be Able To See Your Favourite Medium Writers Again
Albeit with a different user interface…
Let me start by proactively dissipating any confusion. No, this is not going to be an official Medium feature. Medium is in no way affiliated with this new feature, and technically, it’s not going to be part of the Medium site itself, but rather a browser extension. And with that disclaimer out of the way, let’s get down to bees-knees. 🐝
Since the day Medium removed the writers list from its user interface this summer, I kept missing it. While Susie Kearley was kind enough to share the info that Tony Stubblebine provided around the usage ratio of this feature — 5% of all Medium users — and while I, myself, admit that’s a low enough number to pull a feature from a live platform, as I highlighted in another article, 5% out of the millions of users, is still a decent number, and thus perhaps an opportunity to solve a problem differently. Hence, the idea of a Chrome extension, which hopefully will also become a Safari extension.
