One thing that's worth remembering if we are drawing comparisons between the two platforms is that Medium managed to turn profit in late summer of 2024, while Substack is still not profitable. That worries me. I don't think it will go bust, but it could be sold or change its revenue model enough to plug the financial holes it has and that change will affect its writers. So, the party may not last very long. Or it may. All I am saying is, many who praise Substack right now, may not find reasons anymore to do so in the future, so showing the middle finger to Medium (not your case) is not the right attitude or strategy.
