The motivation for the project came from a scenario presented by a fictional stakeholder: the founder of a startup developing an app to recognize LEGO bricks based on user-uploaded photographs. Such a system could be helpful to LEGO collectors and enthusiasts, enabling quick identification of individual pieces.
