Not sure I see your point. Different business models. One caters with garbage to the masses, the other caters with premium products the a more affluent subset of the masses. At the end of the day, both can happily coexist. When it comes to Echo devices btw, I used to own a few of them, various generations and eventually gave up. They’re garbage and while the HomePods are probably Apple’s least baked product, they’re still better than what Amazon offers.
