Not quite. IP55 basically stands for:

5 - Protected against dust limited ingress, no harmful deposits.

5 - Protected against low pressure jets of water from all directions, limited ingress permitted.

I think that's plenty protection for 90% of users on a device that they themselves can repair should they wish to. The risks are a lot lower.

But for sure there are some cases, perhaps like yours where an IP65 rating is preferable.
