Man, you seem to have some weird-ass monitors there. I had 4 different ones connected to 3 different M1 machines, all looked fine, even the 10 year old LG!

I also think your clamshell mode worries are unnecessary. M1 runs really cool, an extra 5 celsius won't make a difference. If that were a problem the old Intels' batteries would have been dead in 6 months, those ran in any mode at egg-boiling temperatures.

I don't get your mouse issues either and I have about 6 of them. In fairness, all Magic Mouses, gen 1 and 2.

Finally, to control your monitor's speakers, there's a monitor for that Studio Display! 😁

Dunno man, I am not saying I don't empathise with your issues, but you seem to somehow have all the odd things in the one room. Been a Mac user for over a decade. Never had any of these issues.
