Just my 2 cents' worth, but from where I stand, more often than not, the only people who really care about any of these design trends and everything mentioned in this article, are designers who practically create themselves jobs by changing stuff every couple of years or so. Clever, but often unnecessary and disingenuous. Users care about stuff that works, stuff that's accessible (fun fact, none of the illustrated designs are), so I sincerely hope that before the next unnecessary trend rears its largely useless head, designers will first look at maybe creating simple accessible UIs and UX.
