It's OK not to have the same experiences. 🙂 That however doesn't take away from the facts:
1. MS uses only two protection rings of the 4 from the x86 architecture. Had they used 3 or 4, this would have not happened.
2. Putting anything 3rd-party in the Kernel is a terrible idea. MS allowed CS to do just that. That same practice Apple abandoned years ago, for very good reasons.
3. MS is currently blaming the EU for allowing CS to run in ring 0. That's ridiculous to say the least and shows how little responsibility the tech giant is willing to take.
You are right on me being angry though, but I have reasons:
1. All of the above are terrible software development practices. As an engineer, that pisses me off.
2. A friend of mine was getting surgery and the anaesthetics machine threw a BSOD because of this issue. That's unacceptable.
3. Another friend of mine is stuck in Germany, unable to get home, to get to work. Lufthansa told her to find accommodation on her own because they couldn't even help with that.
Do you still think I should not be angry?
