It's not you, but the many before you who gave your nationality a bad reputation. I faced the same in the UK when it came to Eastern Europeans. I had to work really hard to prove my worth because many before me did a really shit job and tarnished our reputation. I for one worked with a lot of Indians and many were excellent professionals, some of them I even became friends with, but not many go past the roumours, the hearsay and the admittedly bad eggs, and hence the problem you're facing. It's unfortunate that now every good Indian, Pakistani, African, etc professional has to work exponentially harder to fix that image that has been created over time, and fix it fast.
