The algorithm doesn't actually suck, but you need to train it to do its job. I can safely say that after a few months of clicking the relevant buttons to show less of certain articles, mute certain authors and publications, you'll have a pretty clean and relevant feed. Been on Medium for over 8 years now, and seen it evolve. For a the small company it is, I think it's actually doing a great job, and evolving in the right direction.
