Indeed. All very good points. The article inspired me to write one myself pointing out all the benefits of git commit messages. I have been working for years on projects with 30+ engineers, multiple teams from multiple time-zones. Those commit messages have saved infinitely more time than wasted. I mean, let's be serious, it takes 5 seconds to write a decent commit message. That's not where time is wasted.
