If this was supposed to be a satire, then I didn't get it. For that I apologise. If it wasn't meant to be a satire, then the logic, I find, is highly flawed.

If user has no bio, no story, no picture, one cannot in any way assume they're a writer.

If user has no bio, no story, but has profile picture, one cannot in any way assume they're a writer.

If user has bio, no story, no picture, but bio claims they're a writer, that is a valid state, as one can be a writer reader who does not write on Medium, but somewhere else.

If user has story, no bio, no picture, they're likely trying to stay anonymous. It's perfectly acceptable and fairly standard practice among writers to do so.

... [some more combinations where we cannot assume they're a writer]...

If user has story asking for followers, but no picture, no bio, then they technically already adhere to two of your requirements: they have a story and they are a writer because they wrote a story.

I think there's a number of other wild assumptions in the article, but I'll stop here, because I have to write stuff. 😁
