I think you hit the nail on the head there. While it may work as a short-term strategy, in the long run I think it would backfire. As in everything, one wants t create an identity for themselves, and it needs to be quite clear. Twitter is a good place for blurbs that can then lead people to longform content. I think if that content is engaging, people will read regardless of its length. We owe our readers to bring them back to the place where they have more than the supposed 9s attention-span.
