I think the problem here isn't even Rust, or any language, it's the hype, the evangelists, the fangirls and fanboys, the loudmouths who push people into rewriting perfectly fine, functional applications in other languages. It's irresponsible and devoid of any kind of business sanity. I was going to Rust meetups since the early days, watching from the sidelines, and it became obvious quite quickly that most evangelists are just bored of the existing languages, bored of life in general and need a reason to live, so they'll happily invent problems to solve with Rust, or any other new language, library or framework you can think of. The vast majority of them were never necessary, hence the huge amounts of abandonware everywhere.

You are 100% entitled to your opinion regardless of what people in the comments or on Reddit say. Your findings may not even need to be correct, and it doesn't really matter, because the crux of the matter is the same, and in that you're right: rewriting an app can and will often be objectively a waste of time, effort and overall - more often than not - disappointing, and fan communities simply cannot take any criticism making the whole experience one filled with... regret.
