I know people like to bring this whole "function over form" excuse, but we're talking about a laptop, where I think form is actually a function. If you watch interviews with the product development team, you'll realise Apple deliberately creates a physical size constraint to which then the internals have to adhere. On this occasion, I think they went overboard. The 15" version was ideal.
