I know how you feel. I used to be a huge promoter of both the IAAP and Deque and within the last year or so I started feeling less and less confident in the value they offer both in terms of courses and certifications. I think the community of both existing and aspiring A11Y professionals deserves a lot better. Also, for full transparency, I took the WAS course, and the exam, and failed with just a few points, and looking back it was unfortunately the quality of the exam combined with unrepresentative exam question in the Deque course. I am not stating the exam cannot be passed, it sure can, and I congratulate everyone who did, but their stories have one thing in common — over-preparedness. I don’t think one should have to do that to pass a certification.
