I have reduced my output to about 15 articles a month, so I have time for other activities. So far it has not affected my income, but the future isn't guaranteed. I am still sticking to this being a 3 year experiment. After the 3 years, I'll have to make a decision.

You do highlight an important problem though: writers writing for other writers. I kept saying this and few listened. Apart from the occasional article that creates a social glue between us writers, there is not much point targeting the authors on the platform. What makes Medium profitable is good articles and TONS of READERS, who don't write, just read. That it the only sustainable model, unless ad-support is brought in, which I would prefer not to ever see on Medium.
