I have no problem with short stories. Those have been a thing for hundreds of years and I enjoy them. Shortform != short story, that's the problem and vice-versa.

I would also argue that when I see an engaging title only to find out the entire thing is two three-line paragraphs, I feel like I was forced (duped into) reading it.
