I good few years ago I spent 2 weeks in the Netherlands. Fascinating country. I spent most of my time in Friesland. To this day I regard it as one of the easiest to travel countries. One can literally cycle across the country, no problem. I also went to Ameland and cycled around the island. Fantastic. I think the Dutch are decades ahead of everyone else in seeing the benefit of not relying on cars so much.
