I did the maths when I got my first M1 machine in 2020.

SSD’s do wear out over time with extended use. And while that wear may take years to occur, it does occur. A battery wears out too, of course, but that’s replaceable by design — as it should be.

I did the maths when I got my first M1 machine in 2020. realistically speaking the SSD will outlive the machine, but either way you're good for easily 7-9 years.
