I am a software engineer so I know my tools. I can tell you with great confidence that a 6K MacBook Pro will satisfy the needs for a very wide range of development jobs paying that kind of money or more. An optional piece of tech is an external monitor which costs a few hundred bucks. Don’t confuse investment into a career with investment into a tool with which one does a job. The two are very different things.
