Here's where I think you're missing an important point, the difference between commercial and non-commercial writing. Commercial writing is a fairly new concept, and that's what you are doing. You're writing about stuff that you know a large cohort wants to read.

The other type of writer writes regardless of how many people are interested in their writing. It's simply an artistic need expressed in public, just like a painter or a sculptor. It's not disrespectful to anyone, it's simply writing for different reasons and different readers. For instance when I wrote my first article (a tutorial) on Medium many years ago, I wrote it firstly so I can remember next time how to set up a PHP7 server, and did so publicly because I thought maybe someone else might make use of it too.
