Firstly, ChatGPT is a pile of shite. It was fun at first, but quickly a lot of people realized they won’t be taken seriously with GPT generated garbage. Secondly, there is no incentive to use it, and it doesn’t fit into people’s established workflows. So, I am not surprised. It will tick back up somewhat when students come back, but eventually even they will realize, it gets them nowhere. Generative AI can be useful but ChatGPT isn’t, in the grand scheme of things.
