Dunno, in Europe every time I went to an Apple Store, employees were super polite and accommodating, listening to me more than telling me stuff. Also, the Apple Care thing they always ask if I want it and when I just say no, they tell me I have plenty of time to get it after the purchase if I change my mind, which is both fair and informative.
