Did you read the article or did you stop about half-way? A PR has been made years ago, but it's still being ignored. Multiple people shared ways to solve the problem, including myself, so yes we all contributed.

Yes, I repeat, it's a classic example of open source failure, when someone creates a great library, and then when it's passed on to new owners, it gets into the state it does because certain individuals have notions, don't care, ignore contribution and community requests that are valid. The article disrespects nowhere the original author (or anyone really), in fact it repeatedly highlights the greatness of the people who came up with it and shared it openly.

Forking libraries for something as small as this is both unnecessary and highly discouraged. No point having 101 versions of abandoned libraries.

So, next time you read an article, maybe read till the end, and then offer some constructive feedback, which on this occasion, unfortunately I feel, you did not.
