Clearly not that weird of a column if you find yourself taking a side. 🙂 In my experience what you call captain obvious advice is oblivious to many. As they say, common sense is not so common. Like the article states, I seen plenty folk leave and tell me “I’m not staying more than two years, man”, without ever giving the company a chance to prove them it’s worth staying. And then they moan and bitch online about all the previous companies and spread the bitterness around like it’s free candy or something. The salary bumps one gets every year or two with a jump often isn’t worth the effort and uncertainty that comes with moving. Having said that, you and I do work in different job markets. US and Europe aren’t exactly the same thing. But I did highlight the insurmountable diversity of the industry in the article too. I know it’s a head-scratcher topic… 😊
