Happy 8th Medium birthday to me! This is my most random ever story. This is probably as close I’ll ever get to blogging on Medium, so don’t expect much, lower your expectations to below racoon’s ass and perhaps just enjoy my monologue reminiscing about eight years of writing on Medium — the good, the bad and the whatever else there is. At this point, I’m both enthusiastic and jaded, warm and fecking cold as ice. I know what I like, and I know what I hate from the deepest corners of my liver. I think it’s called being a grown-up or something… Dunno, you tell me.
I’m winging “adulting”. Aren’t we all?
As it stands, the platform is akin to a giant pile of electronic rubbish. Now, before you feel your feathers ruffled, take a step back and think again. It’s a clever enough metaphor, you’ll see. The thing with electronic rubbish is that on the surface it looks like rubbish, but those who know what to look for, find precious metals, valuable data and heck, even money if they stumble upon someone’s crypto-wallet. Medium has a lot of gold, but much of it is hidden to the naked eye. If you happen to follow the wrong people or publications, you’ll end up in an incredibly rotten place of endless how to…
